Veronika Niedra Poth died peacefully on June 4, 2004, at her
residence in Morgan Hill, after a six-month battle with acute
myeloid leukemia.

She was 77.

Born on August 14, 1926, near Balvi, Latvia she was the eighth of nine children born to Jazeps and Paulina Niedra.

She is survived by her husband, Norbert; sons, Andrew, Felix and his wife Pamela; grandchildren, Eric and Angela, all of Morgan Hill; brother, Alberts Niedra; sisters, Rozalija Upenieks and Melanija Zvidrs of Toronto, Ontario, Anna Grizan of Windsor, Ontario, and Maria of Riga, Latvia.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. today at St. Catherine’s Parish, 17400 Peak Avenue, followed by interment at Mount Hope Cemetery in Morgan Hill.

Attendees are encouraged to wear cheerful colors, such as Hawaiian prints, as a celebration of Veronika’s life.
