In reference to the story in Friday’s Dispatch about puppies
from Hunte Corporation, I was improperly quoted as defending the
Hunte Corporation, and stating that they do not sell puppy mill
puppies.

In reference to the story in Friday’s Dispatch about puppies from Hunte Corporation, I was improperly quoted as defending the Hunte Corporation, and stating that they do not sell puppy mill puppies.
I actually said that I talked to several small-scale breeders that sell to Hunte, but that I personally could not guarantee that Hunte did not also get puppies from high volume breeders. I also stated that I often go to both pet shops free of charge to screen puppies for obvious health risks, and work with the pet shops to sell healthy puppies. My intent is only to help ensure community members get healthy pets.
