Adam’s RBI single completes five-run seventh for 17-16 comeback

GILROY – The VFW Vets struck for five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a 17-16 win over Dee’z Nutz in the Men’s C League second-half opener Friday at Las Animas Park.
Chris Adame’s RBI-single completed the Vets comeback. John Adams, 4-for-4 for the Vets, opened the rally with a single.
Vince Pellin went 4-for-4 and scored three VFW runs. Willie Gamboa Sr. went 2-for-3 and scored three runs for Dee’z Nutz.
Jason Krulee hit a lead-off home run and Robert Silvia and Jeff Hek each notched two extra-base hits in an 18-10 Obata Farms victory over the Playaz. Bobby Galvan went 3-for-4 for the Playaz, the first-half CC champion.
Westwood Barbers pushed across nine runs in the sixth inning to erase a 6-3 deficit, leading to a 12-7 decision over D.A. Wolfe Construction. Daniel Vasquez and Danny Pequeno hit consecutive extra-base hits in the deciding rally. Vince Landeros went 3-for-3 for the Barbers, Dave Perez 2-for-3 for the Builders.
Jeff Hilado went 4-for-4 to pace the Hustlers past Los Chilotes 8-5 in Men’s DD play Friday at Christmas Hill Park. Joel Gaeta and Matt Hernandez each went 3-for-3 for Los Chilotes.
Ian Hanley went 5-for-5 to help Aladdin Bail Bonds-Rhino Wiring to a 12-4 victory over the Bomb Squad. Eddie Adame hit a home run, double and single for the Squad.
Jose Adame lined a three-run homer as Cosa Nostra defeated the Slammers 13-1. Ed Cordia singled and scored the Slammer marker.
Darren Wall scored on a fielder’s choice with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning as Trevino Brothers Construction edged Team HJ-FX 8-7 in Men’s D play at Gavilan Sports Park.
Marco Delgado went 4-for-4 with seven RBI as Fritter-Schulz Physical Therapy-Humboldt Brewing topped In The Zone 19-6. Isaac Gonzales went 2-for-3.
Ruben Martinez hit a run-scoring single in a two-run seventh-inning rally, earning Ellite Barbers and Hair Stylists a 6-4 nod over Family Affair. Manuel Gonzales homered for Family Affair.
St. Mary Men’s Club snapped a 14-14 tie with 12 runs in the seventh inning in a 26-14 triumph over Blackout Window Tinting in Men’s E action Thursday at Christmas Hill.
