A trip to the to district finals for the King of the Blues contest in San Francisco, and a shot at $50,000 in prizes.
The contestants for the Gilroy store finals were Larry Lopez, Manny Swan, Richard Snelgrove, Taylor Kropp, Jake Nielsen and Manny Oldenbourg.
Each played a set at the 6910 Chestnut St. store for celebrity judges JD Capone, Daniel Garcia and Peter Van Dyke.
After the judges deliberated, there was a tie between Manny Oldenbourg and Manny Swan. They individually faced off for two minutes in front of the judges.
Manny Oldenbourg, 17, won the competition. He has played the guitar for four years and plays a Fender guitar. He has a chance at the district title June 23 in San Francisco. If he wins the district finals, he would then compete at the July 14 regional finals at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.
