William ”Bill” Bagley Clark of Reno, died June 14, 2004. He
was 89.
Born April 24, 1915 in Gilroy, to Jonas and Emily Clark, he
graduated from Gilroy High School as president of the senior class,
and then attended San Jose State University where he graduated with
a music major in 1939.

Born April 24, 1915 in Gilroy, to Jonas and Emily Clark, he graduated from Gilroy High School as president of the senior class, and then attended San Jose State University where he graduated with a music major in 1939.

Mr. Clark also attended the University of Idaho where he earned a Masters in Music Education.

He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the Army Air Corp. After his service duty was complete, he accepted a position as a music teacher in Reno in 1951.

Shortly thereafter, he accepted a position with the Washoe County School District as a music supervisor and held that position until his retirement in 1971.

Mr. Clark was a member of the Washoe County Retired Teachers Association, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge and AARP. He served on the Board of Directors of the Reno Musicians Union and played with the Reno Philharmonic, Municipal Band, and played many club dates with the Relief Band. He composed the 1964 song, ”Nevada Evermore” for the 100 years of statehood.

Services were held Friday at Ross, Burke & Knobel Chapel, Reno. Interment was held Monday morning at the Gilroy Catholic Cemetery under direction of The Habing Funeral Home, 129 Fourth St., Gilroy.
