Know You’re Waking, a Morgan Hill band, is known for its melodic rock style. RJ Campos mentioned that all the members of the band bring their own unique music preferences to the music, thus solidifying their style. The band includes, RJ Campos, Jimmy Giguer, Mike Poirier and promising new guitarist Scott Schulze. The group is very excited about this new addition. Their music can best be compared to such groups as Letter Kills and Recover. Being together for three years, Know You’re Waking has great expectations for the future. Sonic Mirth, out of Gilroy, with its Emotional/Post-Hardcore style, has delighted crowds in both the Gilroy and Morgan Hill area. The band consists of Greg Smith, Nick Price, Robby Xavier and Isaiah Archuleta. The band performs regularly at Dance Unlimited in Morgan Hill as well as other venues. Sonic Mirth plans to release a CD in December. Lead singer Greg Smith said they had already finished the CD, and are now just raising money to have it pressed. Another local band rapidly rising to stardom is Hollister’s Novice. Mike Gross, Jared Fry, Josh Fry and Jared Headly have only been performing for two years, but their positive brand of rock and roll has audiences addicted. After recently releasing their CD: “Interrupting the Scenery,” and being signed by Rigged Records, the band has found overwhelming community support. They plan to “take this as far as it can go,” and just have fun along the way. Their CD has been a real success and they plan to go on tour starting in November.
