A 28-year-old Gilroy woman was flown by helicopter to a San Jose hospital after she crashed her Honda Accord into a large oak tree Saturday evening on
Watsonville Road. Leila Garcia had to be extracted from the vehicle. She was removed without additional injury, according to Morgan Hill police. She did suffer leg injuries in the crash, however, and may also have suffered head and neck injuries as well. The police report did not indicate the hospital which is treating Garcia. There were no charges filed in the accident, according to police, and alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the incident. Garcia apparently veered off the road into the tree which is near Via Sorrento in southwest Morgan Hill.
