Two women from Essential Bodywear set out to do what they could to improve the self image of the adolescent girls living at Rebekah’s Children’s Services in Gilroy.
Maggie Roberge and Carol Carr made the decision to participate in “Lift Up,” an Essential Bodywear program inspired by Oprah’s Big Give. Roberge, the EBW Team Leader for Northern California, first heard from a relative of a girl who lived at Rebekah’s that there was a real need for professional fittings and bras for the girls as they become women. She recruited Carr, a Morgan Hill image and fashion consultant, to team up with her to make it happen. The two women donated their time and Essential Bodywear donated gently used bras in order that every participant would be fitted and given at least one of the company’s “Sensations” bras in the size and style that worked best for them.
“Our team is very excited to represent Essential Bodywear in the Lift Up Program,” Roberge said. “We see this as an opportunity for women all across the country who are facing difficult circumstances to improve their comfort and image through the gift of great bodywear that is fitted properly to give them the utmost comfort and support.”
