Work on Santa Teresa Boulevard between Watsonville Road and Day Road and between Hecker Pass/First Street and Castro Valley Road is scheduled to begin Monday.
The project, which includes micro-surfacing and re-installation of traffic stripes on Santa Teresa, should take four weeks, weather permitting.
Message board have been installed along Santa Teresa to inform motorists.
Lane closures and delays will occur, said Herbert Naraval, associate civil engineer with the Santa Clara County Roads and Airports Department.
“The county will make every effort to minimize the impact of construction on motorists and residents,” he said.
Weekend work has been allowed around Club Drive to minimize the impact on Ascencion Solorsano Middle School.
The inspector is also notifying businesses along Santa Teresa who will be impacted, as well as, Gavilan Community College.
Workers will be on site from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The county anticipates only minor delays for detours or lane closures during off-peak hours, Naraval said. “However, we ask your readers, if possible, to use an alternate route during peak commute times,” he said.
