The seven Gilroy High wrestlers who entered Saturday’s Day 2 of the Central Coast Section Championships in the semifinals all advanced to tonight’s finals, one victory away from a section title.
Leif Dominguez (103), Paul Fox (112), Victor Olmos (119), Nikko Villarreal (125), Willie Fox (130), Blake Kastl (135) and Aaron Gonzales will go for the crown during the tournament’s culminating event, slated for 7 p.m. at Independence High School in San Jose.
With the consolation rounds finishing up as of 3 p.m., the Mustangs have a 224 to 160 edge in team points over second-place Saint Francis.
