About $17,000 worth of CPR mannequins and a gas generator were stolen from a trailer parked near Sycamore and San Martin avenues in San Martin.
About 6 p.m. July 21, a man driving northbound on U.S. 101 got a flat tire on his trailer and pulled off the highway in San Martin. He pulled over on the side of the road, unhitched his trailer and went in search of someone to help him change his flat, said Sheriff’s Lt. Dalia Rodriguez. When he returned, the padlock on the trailer had been cut and the mannequins and a gas generator were gone. A CPR machine worth about $2,000 had also been destroyed, according to police reports.
“It’s kind of unusual,” Rodriguez said. “It’s not very often we have these kinds of cases.”
Deputies were not able to locate any prints and suspect that the person who broke into the trailer may have been wearing gloves, Rodriguez said. Deputies were unable to locate any witnesses but will keep a close eye on eBay to see if anyone is selling a large number of CPR mannequins, she said.
