Gilroy Gardens H20 Park: wasteful water in drought?

Dear Red Phone, “I'm reading in the Dispatch that there's a new water park at Gilroy Gardens. I thought we were in a drought. This water cannot be recycled water, so obviously we no longer need to stop flushing our toilets each time we use them. And we can water our yards and wash the cars. It doesn't play at all. Plus, the $2 million, where is that coming from? Oh yes, it's my pocketbook - again. As a taxpayer, I think this is horrible. I wonder if this political, is this a payoff to Don Chapin and Co. for something? I don't know. Please do your best.

Council seeks in-house attorney

City Council voted to form a committee to look for an in-house attorney Feb. 24 – a sea change from its position since the early 1990s of using the City’s contracted legal firm, San Jose-based Berliner Cohen.

Caley’s simple wish

Dog left to die in stolen car

Michael McVey never had a chance to say goodbye to his beloved dog after a pair of thieves stole his car and ditched it in San Jose, while his female Akita, named Keiko, was waiting in the back seat. They left the animal to die, leaving her inside McVey’s Nissan Pathfinder for four days before authorities located the vehicle and found Keiko dead.
