Dear Editor,

Three weeks ago I wrote a letter in this column about very few cars obeying the stop sign up Welburn Avenue hill at Rancho Real Drive. There are no sidewalks there, a narrow blind curve, and a little boy got hit there once.

I have seen the Gilroy Police out watching that corner and giving tickets only once in 11 years. Nineteen out of 20 cars still do not stop. Since we just gave the Gilroy Police Department $28 million for a new station, could the officers please start now to enforce traffic laws that keep kids safe?
