Morgan Hill – Local developer Manou Mobedshahi, who recently bought the Granada Theater, said he’s working on a deal with Cinelux Theatres to reopen the historic venue.

“I’m talking to [Cinelux president] Paul Gunsky to see if we can make it happen,” Mobedshahi said. “We’re not too far. It depends on city support.”

Gunsky would not provide details of the negotiations, but said Cinelux has long eyed the Granada as a complement to its soon to be 11-screen theater at Tennant Station.

“Cinelux has always desired to provide art and specialized film at another venue within Morgan Hill,” Gunsky said. “We would wholeheartedly welcome that possibility at the Granada.”
