Embezzlement

Michelle Martinez and her husband Oscar Fragoso agreed to deals Thursday after they were arrested earlier this year for embezzling $1.9 million from a former employer. He’ll serve two years, she’ll serve five to seven.

Gavilan land deal

Gavilan president Steve Kinsella caused a raucous among development-happy San Jose officials this week when he disclosed the schools plans to purchase 55 acres off Bailey Road, at the heart of a future development expected to bring 50,000 new residents to south San Jose.
