Realtor’s Can Tree Kickoff a success

Gilroy – The South County Realtors Association (SCRA) recently held their annual Can Tree Kickoff event at Guglielmo’s Winery. The Realtor’s raised more than $14,000 during the event.

This year’s kickoff theme was “A Day At The Races.” Individual Realtors and Affiliates purchased horses that were cut out of plywood. The horses were then decorated and the jockeys dressed up too. Races were conducted by rolling dice. The grand prize winner of the “Derby” was Bruno Martino.

The overall goal this year is to raise $18,000 before Christmas. These funds will be given to the food banks of Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy. The Realtors also are collecting canned-food and non-perishable items. The general public can help by dropping canned foods and nonperishable items off at a local real estate office or by calling your Realtor, who would be happy to pick up donations.
