Good pit bull – bad pit bull owner. Pit bulls have a tendency toward animal aggression which does not equal aggression towards people. Just because it attacked the dog doesn’t mean it ever would have done harm to a person. The pit bull could have hurt her but it did not.
I think the important thing to remember is the self-fulfilling prophecy in regards to pit bulls. The more people call them vicious monsters, the more the real two-legged vicious monsters will breed them to become that way. Pit bulls were bred to work with humans, not against them.
All pets should be responsibly owned. The pit bull should have been properly confined and not out unattended as the other dogs should not have had a doggie door that lead outside to an accessible area. Several people contributed to this tragedy. I am glad the pit bull owner was charged.
