Gilroy – Richie Rodriquez roped two home runs as Craig Avila Bail Bonds earned the Men’s BB League title with a 25-11 victory over Czar Construction.
The Bondsmen won the B League title in both 2004 and 2005.
Marshall Silva went 4-for-4 as Craig Avila defended the title in the top men’s slowpitch league. Danny Rodriguez went 2-for-3 and scored two runs for Czar Construction.
Co-Rec E
Giacalone Electrical Services rallied past Radiator Doctor 15-12 Tuesday to complete a 2-0 sweep of the Co-Rec E League’s Championship Series at Las Animas Park.
Five of the six series played Tuesday resulted in a 2-0 finish. One series, the Men’s D League featuring Rosso’s Rebels and South Valley Plumbing-Elam Trucking, is 1-1 with the deciding game tonight at Las Animas at 6:30pm.
Brett Fullington and Scott Wilson each finished with four hits and four RBI for Giacalone Electrical. Wilson’s three-run home run in a six-run third lifted Giacalone to an 8-7 lead. Fullington followed with a two-run homer in the fourth inning.
Linda Figone and Jeremy Castro added three hits apiece to the winners’ offense. Henry Maquinalez Jr. (four RBI) and Henry Maquinalez Sr. each collected three hits for the Radiator Doctor.
Co-Rec D
Eric Contreras ripped two triples and a double to spark South County Rockery past Team Hair FX 13-8 in the final game of the Co-Rec D League post-season Tuesday at Las Animas.
Beverly Quimby and Mike Lopez each logged three hits as the Rockery completed the 2-0 sweep. Rockery struck for five runs in the sixth inning to erase a 6-5 deficit. Lopez and Raul Gracia each poked a two-run single in the rally.
Tony Martinez went 4-for-4 and scored three runs for Team Hair FX. Gilbert Ramirez and Joel Garcia each added three hits to the Hair FX attack.
Men’s DD
Isaiah Gonzalez lined a home run, two doubles and two singles to pace Louie & the Outlaws to the Men’s DD title with a 27-7 decision over Trevino Brothers Construction Tuesday at Christmas Hill Park.
Don Rose went 5-for-5 and Josh Gonzalez provided four hits to the Outlaw effort. Chase Locsin went 3-for-4 for Trevino Brothers Construction.
Women’s B
Williams Dental Lab needed a three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat Stubby’s Girls 11-10 and win the Women’s B League title.
Williams built a 6-0 lead through five innings. Melissa Wilson clubbed a solo homer and Cherie Somavia drove in two runs with a single and triple.
Stubby’s Girls managed one run in the sixth, then took an 8-6 lead with seven runs in the top of the seventh. D.J. Simpson hit two singles in the Stubby’s seventh frame comeback.
Somavia opened the Dental seventh with a double, reaching third on a Celina Bonilla single. Reyes plated Somavia with an infield grounder and Margene Peterson delivered Bonilla with a single.
Jessica Loza and Michelle Barry each singled and scored in the top of the ninth for Stubby’s. Two infield errors allowed two runners to reach base in the Williams ninth. Reyes singled to plate one run. Jenny Szyndrowski completed the rally with a two-run double down the rightfield line.
Men’s D
Daniel Moreno highlighted a five-run fourth inning with a two-run double as Rosso’s Rebels eased past South Valley Plumbing-Elam Trucking 8-2 in 42 minutes Tuesday at Christmas Hill in Men’s D action.
