SWAT team called for apparent suicide

Gilroy Police were called around noon Tuesday to the Ramada Inn at 360 Leavesley when a housekeeper saw a man in a room with a gun.
Officers tried to call the man on his cell phone and the room phone, but got no response. They parked the department’s Bearcat vehicle outside the room to protect anyone outside from gun shots.
When they finally got in the room, they found a man who had apparently shot himself. His identity is behind withheld pending notification of next of kin.
