Men’s CCC
Gilroy – Blackout Window Tinting maintained a one-game lead in the first-half Men’s CCC League softball scramble Wednesday with a 23-1 victory over Kenko Utility at Christmas Hill Park.
Chris Velador went 4-for-4 and scored four runs as Blackout improved to 4-0. Frank Duran went 4-for-4 and Jason Corral slapped a home run, double and single for the winners. Allen Wharton singled and scored the Kenko Uitlity run.
The Desperados moved to 3-1 by powering past Sticky Fingers 30-5.
Justin Barroza and Phil Clark each homered in a four-hit effort for the Desperados. Dean Filice cracked a triple and two singles, while Justin Tandy scored four runs for the winners. Nick Bowden scored twice and Danny Rubalcava went 2-for-3 for Sticky Fingers.
The Hitmen joined the Desperados at 3-1 with a forfeit win over RMC Engineering-Cencal Auto Body.
Women’s C
Image and Design Salon & Day Spa-Guy’s Heating advanced to 3-1 in the Women’s C League action Wednesday at Las Animas Park by easing past Farmers Insurance 22-6.
Julie Wheeler went 5-for-5 and Barb Lemberger lashed a home run, triple and two singles as Image-Guy’s remained one game behind the pace of 4-0 Kay’s Kids. Grace Gonzalez and Chrissy Ivory each went 4-for-4 for the winners. Jodi Mendez and Antoinette Torres each went 2-for-3 and Anita Garza scored two runs for Farmers Insurance.
Sue Keehn and Tammi Herscovitch each went 4-for-4 to pace M&M’s past Fidelity Funding Solutions 19-4.
Shelly Guerrero went 3-for-4 with three RBI for M&M’s. Marisela Castro and Maureen Duggan each singled and doubled for Fidelity Funding Solutions.
