Christmas Hill Park.
Gilroy – Bike Center began a night of one-run contests by edging Team Talamo Foods 14-13 in Men’s Winter C League competition Tuesday at Christmas Hill Park.
The Bikers pushed across two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to move to 2-2 in the seven-team loop. Mark O’Donoghue and Lonnie Terrill stroked singles to begin the Biker seventh. An infield error loaded the bases. Leroy Dozal and Mark Terrill followed with RBI-singles to earn the victory.
O’Donoghue went 4-for-5 with a two-run home run, Dozal a triple and three singles. John Batinich went 3-for-5 and scored three runs for the winners. Xavier Puente lashed a two-run home run and RBI-triple for 2-3 Talamo Foods. Ruben Lujan III and Bobby Garcia each added three hits and scored three runs.
Pro Electric turned four hits into two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to produce a 9-8 upset of Czar Construction.
Roy Escudero and Daniel Garcia powered consecutive RBI-singles as the Electricians reached a 1-3 mark. Matt Piedmont keyed the Pro Electric offense with three hits. Bobby Reggiani went 3-for-4 and Junior Gutierrez collected two RBI for 3-2 Czar.
Jus 2 Party struck for five runs in the top of the sixth inning and held on to defeat the Playaz 11-10 in the nightcap.
Gil Barry stroked an RBI-double and Bobby Granados followed with a two-run single as the Party grabbed a 10-8 lead in the sixth. Alex Salgado added the game-winning run in the seventh with a double. Ralph Martinez went 3-for-4 for the Playaz.
Men’s CC
Rosso’s Rebels reached 5-0 in Men’s Winter CC League action Tuesday at Las Animas Park by posting a 12-4 decision over Murderer’s Row-Manolow Glove Repair.
Ryan Alnis netted a home run, double and two singles for the Rebels. Zeke Lopez managed three hits and Isaiah Rojas scored three runs for Rosso’s. Danny Hinojos stroked three hits and Carlos Diaz singled and tripled for Murderer’s Row-Manolow Glove Repair.
Feather Haven Mill improved to 3-1 in second place by defeating Extreme Air 19-4. Albert Alosi roped a three-run home run, Brian Sullivan a two-run shot for Feather Haven Mill. Eric Keen, Mike Sullivan, Philip Alosi and Brett Scott each added three hits for the winners. Brad Burrows hit a three-run home run and Randy Evanger went 2-for-2 for Extreme Air.
The Las Animas Sweepers pulled into third place at 3-2 with a 24-20 squeaker over Buzz N By U.
Jason Thomas went 4-for-4 and Brian Cortez, Donny Gooding and Ken Tanase each provided three hits to the Las Animas Sweeper offense. Mike Montenegro pounded a two-run home run, a double and two-run single for Buzz N By U. Mark Sotelo, Kurt Gitmed and Ralph Ortiz each notched three Buzz hits.
