Sacramento – Live streaming video of traffic conditions at two busy sections of Hwy. 101 are now available for public viewing on the district Web site, local Caltrans officials have announced. Real-time traffic at Hwy. 101/Fourth Street in Pismo Beach and Hwy. 101/Patterson Ave. in Santa Barbara can be viewed at: http://video.dot.ca.gov/
“This is one more important tool for Central Coast motorists to use in gathering information about current highway conditions,” said Caltrans Maintenance and Operations Chief Steve Price.
Other central coast locations with live traffic video scheduled to come on-line in early 2006 include Hwy. 101 in Santa Margarita, Atascadero and Paso Robles (SLO county) and 101 in Goleta and at other interchanges in Santa Barbara.
In addition, Caltrans provides live video at several statewide highway locations on this Web page.
Motorists are also urged to call our toll-free, automated California Highway Information Network (CHIN) @ 800-GAS ROAD this winter to get current traffic conditions for any highway in the state.
