Dear Editor:
In support of the two articles about Wal-Mart. I also highly recommend not letting this monster into our community. Being born and raised in Gilroy, it may cause mass destruction. Wal-Mart may be seen as a blessing, but in reality Wal-Mart is a master of evil.
As of the year 2000, Wal-Mart has 12,000 plus lawsuits in process which vary from sexual harassment to injuries to customers and their employees to unfair labor practices. Mr. Walton claimed his corporation is for the American people. But why should American consumers and employees have to suffer at the cost of this $160 billion greedy corporation? If Wal-Mart is truly for all of us Americans it should be a safe place to shop and work, pay better wages for its employees and, most importantly provide health benefits for employees. Who does Wal-Mart really look out for? Their own corporate greed!!! Here are a few Web sites to visit and see what Wal-mart is really about: 1) www.wal-martlitigation.com; 2) www.nlcnet.org; 3) www.walmartyrs.com.
I can also recommend an interesting book “How Wal-Mart is destroying America and the world and what You can do about it” by Bill Quinn. Come on fellow Gilroyans do the research, get involved and say “NO” to a proposed super Wal-mart!!!
Help save our beautiful town.
