Joe F. Gamboa Sr. passed away in San Jose on June 20, 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Gamboa, of Gilroy and his two sons, Jack Armendariz and Joe F. Gamboa Jr.
Mr. Gamboa was born in Brownsville, Texas, on Oct. 14, 1940, and moved to Gilroy 39 years ago. He was a 27 year employee of Gilroy Foods, Inc. Mr. Gamboa volunteered for the Council on Aging, he was a 25 year volunteer for the Gilroy Garlic Festival and was currently serving on the City of Gilroy Building Board of Appeals.
He also enjoyed fishing.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Graveside service for Joe on Friday at St. Marys Cemetery, Gilroy. The service will begin at the cemetery at 10 a.m.
Services are under direction of Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
