GILROY – Guy’s Heating upset the Las Animas Sweepers 20-8 Monday to create a three-team tie for first place in the Men’s CC League with one game to play in the first half at Las Animas Park.

Guy’s struck for four runs in each of the first two innings and completed the win with a nine-run seventh frame.

Guy’s joined the Sweepers and VFW Vets at 3-2. The Vets earned a forfeit win over 1-4 Krazy Koyotes-Dutchman’s Pizza.

Rick Trujillo and Marco Delgado each posted four hits as Guy’s finished with 26 hits. Jason Trujillo went 3-for-3 with three RBI and John Hernandez went 3-for-4 for the winners. Joseph Arde hit a solo home run and Brian Cortez socked a double and two singles for Las Animas Sweepers.

Countryside Preschool powered by AJ’s Boys 24-16 Monday to leave both clubs at 3-2 atop the Men’s CCC League at Christmas Hill Park.

Brett Scott went 5-for-5, Kris Ferguson 4-4 for Countryside. Bob Reggiani came off the Countryside bench to go 3-for-3 and score three runs. Steve Arriaga homered and Chris Adame went 4-for-4 for AJ’s Boys.

Greg Cirimeli lashed two home runs as Los Gatos Capital defeated the Desperados 22-12. Both teams are 2-3 entering Monday’s final twinbill of the first half.

Stu Kirchick’s three-run homer helped Los Gatos Capital score six runs in the first inning for a 6-6 tie. Mike Mendoza aided the Capital cause with two doubles and a single. Dean Filice homered, Lorenzo Nino went 3-for-3, Steve Garrido and Bob Stuve each 3-for-4 for the Desperados.

Dan Keith Septics stretched its winning streak to three games Monday with a 21-8 victory over Covenant at Gavilan Sports Park.

Rich Furtado and Randy Newton each hit two home runs for the 3-1 Septics. Randy Rubalcaba and Nick Bowdon each went 4-for-5.

Dan Keith Septics will play 4-0 No Soup 4 You Sunday at 6:20 p.m. at Las Animas for the Men’s DDD League lead.

Tom Banuelos went 3-for-3 and John Day singled and tripled for Covenant.

Joel Vaca and Matt Coughlin ripped homers to guide Victory Outreach past Bay Sheets 16-9. Serafin Mancera hit a lead-off homer and Robert Garranger went 3-for-3 for Bay Sheets.

Manuel Juarez launched a grand slam to ignite a 29-0 Chippendales decision over the Plunderers. Sebastian Cabrera, Kevin Giordanengo and Mose Guerrero Jr. hit homers in a 16-run fourth frame.
