DEAR Editor:
There seems to be a little confusion concerning the cause of
Tuesday’s recall election. Frankly, I can’t believe people are
actually wondering how this happened.
DEAR Editor:
There seems to be a little confusion concerning the cause of Tuesday’s recall election. Frankly, I can’t believe people are actually wondering how this happened.
It is very simple. Darrell Issa BOUGHT and paid for the recall. Arnold BOUGHT and paid for the election. This along with the media (including The Dispatch) and their CONSTANT fawning attention on him, it was IMPOSSIBLE for Arnold to lose.
The irresponsibility of the press was nothing short of criminal.
A man walked in possessed of acres of existing publicity, and the press just kept giving him more and more and MORE! All the while, over a hundred others got so little attention that they were effectively invisible. Small local papers like The Dispatch were as guilty as the big ones in this regard.
History will have plenty to say about this abuse of the public trust.
We can argue and analyze all we want about the Latino vote and the women’s vote and the split along party lines, but this recall was about TWO things: MONEY and FAME.
Two thirds of the electorate have spent the better part of twenty years watching this FAKE HERO save the world and solve every problem imaginable, and now we act a little surprised to find them looking toward him to save the state on a wave of free publicity. How shameful.
We are the laughing stock of the whole earth, and rightfully so.
We have elected a cartoon character to our highest state office. Out of 135 candidates we couldn’t find one that was more qualified than a pretend problem solver whose REAL life is riddled with sickness and disgusting behavior. So much for the fabled Republican commitment to HIGH MORAL CHARACTER.
Just like Reagan before him, we have another leader “playing the part.” And just like George W., we have another powerful leader merely PRETENDING to lead, while others pull the strings.
Congratulations California.
Hope you enjoy it folks. It’s all yours, bought and paid for.
