Esther S. Pate, 98, died quietly at home in Gilroy on Oct. 29, 2003.
She was a native of Ohio. Mrs. Pate was the organist at the Gilroy Presbyterian Church for many years playing at numerous weddings and funerals. She was a 75- year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a 50-year member of P.E.O.
She was the wife of the late Carl Pate, mother of Jack Pate, of Gilroy and Jerry C. Pate and his wife, Joy, of Daly City; grandmother of Kelly Bryan and her husband, Patrick, of Lake Oswego, Ore., Jennifer Howell and her husband, Dan, of Alameda and Kimberly Pate, of Daly City; and great-grandmother of Caleb and Taylor Bryan, of Lake Oswego, and Carl Howell, of Alameda. She was preceded in death by her sisters Loreen Abbott and Ruth Murphy and her brother Elmer Murphy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
