Dear Editor:

To the parents in Gilroy: Last night, my son had his bike stolen. He and his friend went to McDonald’s on First Street. One ordered their food and one waited by the bikes. For the split second when my son’s friend went into McDonald’s to help carry the food, someone stole his bike.

That person obviously was unable to afford a bike like that. I myself couldn’t afford it. When I purchased the bike for my son, I was recently divorced with two young boys. I saved every penny to buy them both “Haro” bikes that they truly wanted. It was their transportation in town. So PARENTS, if your child came home last night with a “white Haro” bike. It belongs to my son. Shame on you for allowing them to keep it in your yard or garage. Do what’s right and return it!
