GILROY – The Pintello Pintello Comedy Theater will be rolling with laughter again with its presentation of “Social Security” beginning at 8 p.m. today.
Produced by Rod and Marion Pintello, “Social Security” is a sharp comedy about a New York City couple who own a gallery on 57th St. But they are prepared for the surprise her hapless sister and brother-in-law are dropping off one night – Mama, who seems to certainly be ready to shatter their very organized life. That is, unless they can arrange for her to meet an interesting man, perhaps an artist.
The comedy, directed by Whitney Pintello McClelland, is the latest production at the new live theater venue at 8531 Church St. in Gilroy. The theater has comfortable, table-seating that encourages a relaxed, fun evening of theater.
The cast features six South County stage veterans, with Marion Pintello and Tom Hepner as the suburbanites, Ruth E. Mullins as Sophie Greengrass, a classic take-charge mother-in-law, Pat Cianci and Rod Pintello as the stressed-out couple from Long Island, and Steve Spencer in an ageless character role. The show is bright, witty, and, as expected at the Pintello Comedy Theater, funny.
“Social Security” begins at 8 p.m. tday and runs Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 15 at 8531 Church St. Tickets for the show are $15, and reservations can be made by calling 776-8004 or e-mailing pintello@garlic .com.
