Cheetahs 7, Red Tigers 0

–The Cheetahs played very well as a team with good passing and scoring. The score does not reflect the good play and sportsmanship that the Red Tigers showed. The game was highlighted by Katie Clark’s first goal of the season. Caitlyn Svardal was solid at goalie as well as Annie Gonzales who, after her turn at goalie, scored three goals. Andrea Kovach scored the first two goals of the game and Kristen Mank also found the back of the net. Good teamwork was also showed by Jordan Mazza, Emma Morley, and Madrea Arila.

Roadrunners 4, White Lightning 3

–White Lightning dropped their first game of the season. Lightning had many attempts on goal, but were held to a single score in the first half by Emma Leach, thanks to persistent goalie work by Roadrunners’ Suzette Vandenberg. With Roadrunners’ Jamie Lanz finally slipping by Lightning’s impressive defense, led by Kiara Santamaria, the half ended tied in a 1-1 tie. In the second half, the score see-sawed, first with an early goal by Lightning’s Emily Barham with Cristyn Simpson assisting, and then two goals scored by Roadrunners’ Lanz. Lightning ralied back with another goal by Leach; and Lanz once again in the final seconds to clinch the victory for Roadrunners.

Dr. Smith’s Red Demons 6, Green Snakes 0

–Goalies Alli Unger – who played the first half – and Giordan Rojas and Francesca Comin – who shared time in the second half – saw little action thanks to the strong Demon defense led by Jennifer Velasquez and Ashley McDermott. Rojas scored first for the Demons off a beautiful overhead pass from McDermott. Monique Kerstens scored the second goal after several near misses. Forward Kate Wheat assisted numerous times bringing the ball up the field to scoring range. Lauren Block started the scoring streak in the second half with a breakaway up the field to score.
