Forum Adult Social Club Owner Deena Luce leaves the South County Courthouse in San Martin Monday. She made a brief appearance in the courtroom, but left when she saw that news cameras were present.

After leaving the courtroom just after 9 a.m., Luce waited in the parking lot for her attorney Kevin Hutcheson to tell her what happened with her 20 charges of operating a business in Gilroy without a license.

Gilroy Assistant City Attorney Jolie Houston and Hutcheson approached the bench for nearly 10 minutes before Judge Kenneth Shapero called for a continuance to the trial for 9 a.m. on Jan. 27, saying if the issue was not resolved soon, the trial would commence.

Neither attorney would comment on the case, but Hutcheson said Luce left the courtroom because “she didn’t need to be there.”
