Gilroy First! is a conglomeration of Gilroyans of various backgrounds and political affiliations. The passion that draws us together is voter participation in the Gilroy political process.
Did you know that in the last City Council election a mere 4,000 of 17,000 or so registered voters actually cast a vote? That means 13,000 people let the other 4,000 – fewer than one quarter – decide who would set the policies that we all live by.
Gilroy First! seeks to charge that by registering and educating voters on Saturdays.
Not registered? Watch for voter registration tables, staffed by out volunteers at Wal-Mart, Safeway, PW, Nob Hill and other Gilroy markets. You’ll have a chance to register, apply for an absentee ballot, learn about voting and get answers about voting and our organization.
Registered? Help register others by coming to Gilroy First! headquarters, 6901 Church St. between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. We’ll provide brief training and materials and send you to a table to register folks.
Register to vote. It’s easy; it’s painless; it is infinitely rewarding.
