GILROY – Radiator Doctor clinched at least a tie for the second-half Co-Rec C league title Tuesday with a 10-5 victory over Dutchman’s Pizza-Big Kahunas at Gavilan Sports Park.
Dennis Subia and Henry Maquinalez Jr. hit doubles in a seven-run first inning for Radiator Doctor. Subia added a solo home run in the fifth frame. John Ceballos went 2-for-3 and scored two runs for the winners. Cheryl Baragona ripped a triple and single, scoring twice for the Big Kahunas. Gina Lopez went 2-for-2 and Mark Logan scored two Kahun runs.
Radiator Doctor improved to 4-0 with a two-game lead entering the final two weeks of the regular season. The winner of the second half will face first-half champion Just For Fun in the best 2-of-3 Championship Series.
DALEO scored 12 runs in the fifth inning to lock up a 23-8 decision over Team FX.
Rich Furtado hit two doubles, Jared Reeve a double and single in the DALEO fifth inning. Tracy Nelson went 5-for-5 and scored four runs for DALEO. Matt Goosens and Furtado each homered for the winners. Tony Martinez hit two home runs and Gilbert Ramirez went 3-for-3 for Team FX.
Victoria’s Restaurant Banditos maintained a one-game lead in the Men’s B League pennant scramble with a 16-7 win over Lopez Vending Machines Tuesday at Christmas Hill Park.
Lopez Vending used five consecutive two-out singles in the fifth inning to score three runs and take a 7-5 lead. The Banditos countered with four runs in the sixth, paced by a two-run triple by Rodney Sakai. Rich Rodriquez hit a two-run double in a seven-run seventh for Victoria’s.
Sakai hit for the cycle and Rich Rodriquez Jr. went 4-for-5 for the winners. Mike Orta went 4-for-4 for Lopez Vending, the first-half Men’s BB League titlist.
Cristina Castillo went 4-for-4 and scored three runs as Handmade Healthcare trimmed Williams Dental Lab 12-9 in Women’s B League play Tuesday at Las Animas Park.
Mary Ellen Valdivia went 3-for-3 and scored twice as Handmade moved to 2-2, trailing 3-1 Williams with two weeks left in the season.
Cherie Somavia went 4-for-5, Jenny Szyndrowski went 3-for-3 with four RBI and Maureen Hughes scored four runs for Williams Dental Lab.
