GILROY – B&T Farms snapped an 8-8 tie with nine runs in the sixth inning to defeat Bike Center-DataMate 17-10 in the Men’s B League opener for both teams at Gavilan Sports Park.
Dennis Castro hit a two-run home run and Roy Alba netted a grand slam as B&T Farms sent 14 batters to the plate in the sixth.
Castro finished with three extra-base hits and Gaary Tognetti drove in three runs for B&T Farms. Steve Borgna lined three doubles for Bike Center-DataMate.
Alex Flores went 4-for-4 with a home run as Out 2 Bang outlasted Obata Farms 17-15. Ruben Lujan went 4-for-4 and John Vasquez added a single, double and triple to the Bang attack. Rich Pirozzoli went 4-for-4 for Obata Farms.
Abel Jaquez hit a grand slam and a two-run shot to lead Talamo Foods past Banditos 27-3. Henry Calderon plated six Talamo runs with two homers and a single. Javier Ramos went 2-for-3 with one run batted in for the Banditos.
Krazy Koyotes opened Women’s B League action Tuesday with a 17-11 victory over Dutchman’s Pizza at Christmas Hill Park. Sissy Phillips went 4-for-4 and Shelly MacVicar added four singles to the Krazy Koyotes surge. Helen Ortgea went 4-for-4, while Mercy Sermeno, Diana Lujan and Christina Salvin provided three singles each to the Dutchman’s Pizza effort.
D.J. Simpson went 5-for-5 and Missy Howe drilled a triple, double and two singles to pace Handmade Healthcare past Williams Dental Lab 20-12. Sandy Fortino, Margene Peterson and Vicki Christopher lashed three hits each for Williams Dental Lab.
Joel Garcia’s run-scoring single in the bottom of the final inning earned Just For Fun a 17-16 Co-Rec C League nod over Radiator Doctor Tuesday at Las Animas Park.
Eddie Cordia homered and Art Naranjo, Frank Crue and Garcia finished with three hits each for the winners. Ryan Rojas went 4-for-4, Lorraine Marquez, Kat Corrales and Kiely Sheppard each 3-for-4 for Radiator Doctor.
George Smith went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs as Team FX defeated DALEO 17-10. Tony Martinez went 2-for-2 and scored five Team FX runs. Rich Furtado highlighted a four-extra-base hit performance with a two-run homer for DALEO. Kurt Gitmed added a triple and two doubles, Matt Goosens a single and two doubles.
