Mathew Z. Narog died suddenly on April 15 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister. He was 73.

Born In Lejeish, Poland, he moved to California in 1967 and has lived in Hollister for four years.

He retired after 40 years as an agronomist in horticulture and spent much of his time in the Cupertino Rotary Club. He is a former scout master in the Cupertino area.

Narog is survived by his wife, Yvette Narog, of Hollister; sons Kim Narog and wife Leslie of Gilroy, Darryl Narog of Walnut Creek, Cory Narog of Redwood Shores, Blair Narog and wife Carmen of Mountain View; daughters Sherry Sapudar and husband Lewis Jr. of Cupertino and Laura Narog of Hollister; and 10 grandchildren.

Friends are invited to a visitation today from noon to 7 p.m. at the Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home in Hollister. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Saratoga Federated Church, 14370 Saratoga Ave., Saratoga. Burial and graveside services to follow at the Madronia Cemetery, 14754 Oak St., Saratoga. Contributions are preferred to either the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
