Herbert E. Wentz passed away at home from congestive heart
failure March 31 at the age of 94.
Herbert E. Wentz passed away at home from congestive heart failure March 31 at the age of 94.
Mr. Wentz was born June 13, 1908, in Warren, Penn. He has been a resident of Gilroy since 1997.
He was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and lifetime member of the Grange. Mr. Wentz spent most of his adult life farming in Pennsylvania. In his early years he was a motorcycle enthusiast who owned one of the original Indian Motorcycles. In his later years he enjoyed reading and listening to music.
He loved his cats, but most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his son, Roland and his wife Sandy Wentz of Sunnyvale and daughter Janet and her husband Ralph Cristofaro of Gilroy. He was the grandfather of Rebecca DeAmaral of Paso Robles, Lisa Orton of Atlanta, Angela Moore of Morgan Hill and Julie Cristofaro of Gilroy; great-grandfather of seven; and brother of Violet Gilson of Titusville, Penn. He is also survived by numerous family members from his late wife Ann of Houtzdale, Penn.
Memorial Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 651 Broadway, Gilroy under direction of Habing Family Funeral Home.
Donations to the St. Stephen’s Memorial Fund in Mr. Wentz’s Memory are preferred and appreciated.
