GILROY – The Get Low Players snapped a three-game losing streak with a 14-13 upset of previously unbeaten Countryside Daycare Friday in Men’s Winter D League play at Las Animas Park.

Bubba Cordero’s two-run home run with two out in the top of the seventh inning gave Get Low the 14-13 lead. Frank Valencia and Tony Alcazar each mustered three hits for the winners. John DeCarlo Jr. singled and tripled for thew co-league leaders.

Jeff Elliot, Vince Carrasco and Joel Garcia each ripped three hits to help the 3-1 Dirty Dozen past the Rebels.

Jarrod Hernandez went 4-for-4, including a two-single in an eight-run seventh inning for the Rebels.

Bubba Lara slapped a double and two singles to pace Talk Alota Ship (3-1) to a 17-9 victory over Los Chilotes. Rich Hattaway scored three Ship runs. Joel Gaeta homered and Jesus Begines provided two doubles for the Chilotes offense.

The Las Animas Sweepers outlasted the VFW Vets 13-10 in a key Men’s C League contest Friday at Christmas Hill Park.

The Sweepers, 1-4 in sixth pace with three games left on the regular-season schedule, used a six-run rally in the sixth inning to erase an 8-7 deficit. Kevin Orsco, who hit for the cycle, capped the Sweeper assault with a three-run home run.

Mitch Pierce went 3-for-3 and scored three Las Animas Sweeper runs. Fernando Fernandez went 2-for-3 and scored three Sweeper runs. John Adams went 4-for-4 and Toby Reyes and Anthony Gonzales added three hits apiece as the league-leading Vets fell to 4-1.
