DEAR EDITOR:
I would like to take one second to point out a small overlooked fact in regard to the lady reporting an “unoccupied vehicle DRIVING down the road.”
One big problem I see with her reporting this incident is that she didn’t stick around. She was curious enough to call 9-1-1, but not curious enough to find out if someone was hurt? She had better things to do and relied on our underpaid public safety folks to pick up the ball.
They have picked up the ball thousands of times successfully. I’m tired of people blaming the dispatcher for an alleged mistake, why aren’t we asking this lady questions like: Couldn’t you have waited to make certain emergency crews showed up? and Why didn’t you go find out if someone was hurt inside the vehicle?
I believe people should have a little more concern as to what goes on in their community.
If you see something that is way out of the ordinary, report it and take five minutes to make sure no one is HURT.
If I was in a helpless situation, I would want someone to care more than to just call 9-1-1.
