SAN JOSE – The Gilroy High wrestling team sits atop the leader board after the first day of competition at the 2010 Central Coast Section Championships.
The Mustangs are in search of their eighth straight CCs title and currently hold a 16-point lead over Saint Francis.
All eight Mustangs, who were seeded in their respective weight classes, Leif Dominguez (3rd), Rodney Balajadia (2nd), Jesse Delgado (1st), Willie Fox (2nd), Blake Kastl (1st), Vicente Aboytes (1st), Dominic Kastl (1st) and Luis Barragan (2nd), have advanced through in the championship bracket and are one match away from the finals.
The finals are set for 7 p.m. on Saturday at Independence High School in San Jose.
