audition; 12:30 check-in for 1pm audition; and on Sunday check in
at 6:30pm for 7pm audition.
Morgan Hill – Auditions for “The Fantasticks” will be held Saturday and Sunday. Check in at 9:30 for 10am audition; 12:30 check-in for 1pm audition; and on Sunday check in at 6:30pm for 7pm audition.
All auditions at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse, Monterey Road and Fifth Street.
All roles are open for adults ages 16 and older. Come prepared with a song of your choosing (not from this show).
Accompanist will be provided. (Auditioners for the Mute need not prepare a vocal piece.)
Be prepared to perform a cold reading and pantomime.
Dress comfortably, a short dance routine will be taught.
Rehearsals will be held Feb. 21 through April 14. Performances will be held on the following dates: April 15, 16, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, May 1, 6 and 7.
Roles include: The Narrator (El Gallo), a rakishly handsome gallant (Baritone: A flat – high G); The Girl (Luisa), a romantic idealist (Soprano: B – High G); The Boy (Matt), an innocent young man (Baritone/Tenor: A – High G); The Boy’s Father (Hucklebee): former Navy Man, meticulous gardener (Baritone: A – High F Sharp); The Girl’s Father (Bellomy): A merchant, also a picky gardener (Baritone: A – High F sharp); The Actor (Henry): An aging, over-the-top thespian (mostly non-singing); The Man who Dies (Mortimer): Henry’s goofy sidekick (mostly non-singing); The Mute: a speechless character. Male or female. Must move well (non-singing).
