Alcohol Beverage Control investigators suspended Morgan Hill Bowl’s alcohol license for 15 days effective Feb. 11, according to a release. The action means the business can’t sell alcohol until Feb. 26. In addition, Morgan Hill Bowl is on probation for the next 18 months and if any similar violations occur, ABC has the authority to take further disciplinary action.

ABC suspended the license after the department reviewed police reports and numerous calls for police service that occurred between May 2008 and May 2009. Based on the accumulation of reports of battery, fights, public drunkenness and narcotics, the licensee was found to be operating a “disorderly premises.”

The ABC department received several complaints regarding the operation of the premises and the drain on police services required to maintain order.

ABC investigators and the Morgan Hill Police Department worked closely together during an ongoing investigation. The investigation revealed the premises was operating in violation of the rules and laws governing the operation of a restaurant with an alcoholic beverage license.

“This is an outstanding example of two agencies working together to achieve a common goal of making the community safer by reducing alcohol-related crime,” said ABC Director Steve Hardy.

Morgan Hill Bowl is located at 650 Tennant Station.
