A Gilroy man has entered a plea of not guilty to two counts of committing a lewd act against a child under the age of 14 and will next appear in court Monday.
Gordon Larmay, 50, was arrested April 7 after inappropriately touching a 10-year-old girl, police said. The incident took place at a Watsonville Kmart, Santa Cruz County Assistant District Attorney Andrew Isaac said. Larmay did not know the child, Isaac said.
After his arrest, Larmay pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is being held in the Santa Cruz Main Jail with his next court date scheduled for June 21. If convicted, he will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, Isaac said.
In 1994, Larmay pleaded no contest to committing lewd acts in public, Isaac said.
