The Gilroy High girls varsity tennis team evened the season series with Alisal with a 5-2 win Tuesday in Gilroy.
The Trojans handed a 5-2 defeat in Salinas in the teams’ first go-around last month.
“The girls are coming together, finally,” a beaming head coach Jami Reynolds. “It’s a little late, but its good. They are having fun.”
The Mustangs swept all three doubles matches and received victories at No. 1-singles from Jennifer Kwong 7-5, 6-1, and at No. 2-singles player Satthea Khay 6-3, 3-6, 10-5.
No. 1 doubles partners Elaina Vasquez and Melanie Morelos breezed through their match 6-1, 6-3, while Lindsay Holt and Sami Holder won by the same scores at No. 2-doubles. The No. 3-doubles pairing of Alejandra Pacheco and Megan Meazell bounced back from a first set loss to capture a team point with a three-set tiebreaker win 4-6, 6-1, 10-5.
Gilroy plays its second home match of the week Thursday against Notre Dame at 4 p.m.
