Two teenagers from San Jose were arrested the day after they robbed another juvenile at B.B.-gunpoint, police said.
The victim, a male from Morgan Hill, was walking home from the Live Oak High School football game Friday, Sept. 17, according to Morgan Hill Police Sgt. Bill Norman. At about 11:30 p.m., two teenage males approached him on Main Avenue with a B.B. gun that resembled a semiautomatic handgun.
They stole an Ipod and the victim’s student identification card, police said. The victim thought the gun was a higher-caliber, more threatening firearm.
The suspects fled on foot westbound on Main Avenue, Norman said.
On Saturday, police received a call about a suspicious vehicle in the area of Murphy Springs Court and Hale Avenue. Someone called to report that two teenage males were standing around a Ford van that looked suspicious.
Police arrived and determined the van had been stolen out of Morgan Hill, and detained the two teens for questioning, Norman said. The robbery victim later identified the two suspects as those who attacked him.
Police then searched the suspects’ home in San Jose, where they recovered the stolen Ipod, and the B.B. gun that was used in the robbery, Norman said. Also found at the residence was a bicycle that was stolen in a separate incident. Norman did not know where the bicycle had been stolen from.
The two suspects were booked Saturday night on suspicion of robbery, Norman said. Police were unable to connect them to the stolen van.
