What inspires you?
Throughout my life, my sister Nadine has been my primary inspiration. Her work ethic and determination has inspired me to apply those same characteristics in my own life.
What is your favorite subject in school, and why?
Science is the subject I enjoy the most. It teaches me how the world around me functions and the subject also forces me to apply what I’m learning to real life. The various experiments we do encourage me to investigate and come to a conclusion, based on my results.
If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what would it be?
My younger brother is a type one diabetic, so If I had the power to change one thing in the world I would change the fact that there is no cure for diabetes.
If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
If I could travel anywhere I would go to Italy. My family members on my dad’s side are Italian, so it would be fascinating to be immersed in a culture that I have a strong connection to.
Name one big challenge in your life right now:
The main challenge I have had in my years in high school is managing my time adequately. Playing sports year round and taking challenging classes doesn’t leave much room for wasting time.
What is your dream job?
I do not know specifically what my dream job would be, but as long as I am passionate about what I am doing I would consider it to be a dream job.
If you were stuck on a deserted island, what three things could you not live without?
Excluding the supplies that would be necessary for survival I would bring a soccer ball, my family, and my dog.
Favorite book:
My favorite book of all time is My Friend Flicka. While I was in elementary school, this book opened the doors to reading for me. It was the first book I truly enjoyed and it showed me that reading a book can transport you into a different world.
What do you want to do after high school?
After high school, I plan on attending a four year university in California.
Something that makes you smile:
Being outdoors, playing soccer, and spending time with my family generate a smile on my face.
