Gilroy Mustangs

The Gilroy boys golf team is riding high.
Though it was only a scrimmage, the Mustangs are energized following their 265-276 win over Christopher Thursday at Gilroy Golf Course.
“Beating a team like Christopher, which has been so dominant in this town for the past several years, gives the boys a huge boost in confidence,” GHS coach Sam Sauer said via email. “They now realize that we could be the team to watch in the Pacific division this year. I’m looking forward to seeing how this all plays out over the next couple of months.”
Foreign exchange student Magnus Myhr led Gilroy with a 42. Nick Triolo was close behind carding a 46, while Avery Trevino scored a 51.

Scores for Christopher were not yet available.

The Mustangs will be back in action at 2:30 p.m. today when they take on league opponent North Salinas at The Club at Crazy Horse.
