Motto change too?:
”
My question is if the police officers want to go back to the
traditional black and white, will they go back to the traditional
motto which was ‘To protect and to serve?’ I believe (a motto) is
not on their cars at this time.

Motto change too?: “My question is if the police officers want to go back to the traditional black and white, will they go back to the traditional motto which was ‘To protect and to serve?’ I believe (a motto) is not on their cars at this time.”
The Red Phone got in touch with Capt. Debbie Moore with Gilroy Police Department who said, “There aren’t any plans to change our motto. The final design plans (decal, wording, etc.) for the future black and white police vehicles hasn’t been finalized at this time.” She added that Capt. Scot Smithee will be working with a group of officers in the future to finalize the design plans.
The current motto is: Pride, professionalism, service.
loser might be a
winner: “I’m calling because you always get your Daily Three Lottery numbers backwards. If anybody has them the right way, and you show them the wrong way, they throw their ticket away and are losing money because you don’t check your figures before putting them in the paper. Thank you.”
Thanks for letting us know. It’s not sure how the numbers are mixed up, but the Red Phone passed your message along. The designer always gets the numbers from the official California Lottery Web site, but the staff will make sure to copy the numbers EXACTLY as they are shown.
road troubles: “I have a problem with a pothole, the one on Wren Avenue in front of that O’Brien place. Actually it’s not a pothole, they have cut out the road and put some asphalt. I thought I was going to drop into China and my car was going to be ruined. It is huge! Please call somebody.”
The Red Phone did, and unfortunately Teresa Hernandez of Gilroy’s Operations Department can’t exactly pinpoint where the problem is with the information you provided, caller. They need a specific location, in front of a specific business/restaurant/etc. or a spot between two crossroads. Call the Red Phone back with more specifics and it’ll get right back on the problem.
getting rid of waste: “I’m calling because I just read the article on biohazards and getting rid of waste (Dec. 7) and there wasn’t a lot of information about the Santa Clara County program, but it is a really good program.
It happens the first weekend of the month. The next one will be the first weekend in February and all you need to do is call 299-7300 and schedule an appointment to drop off hazardous waste from your home. So I’d encourage people to do that because we don’t want to have things dumped in our creeks around Gilroy. Thanks a lot Red Phone.”
The Red Phone thanks you for your call
And hopes everyone else is on the ball.
Attention readers, don’t toss that stuff out
With hazardous waste you shouldn’t go that route.
So make an appointment and drop it off
If you don’t, other residents may scoff.
And if it gets the chance, the Red Phone will too
It will revel in the opportunity to make fun of you.
So call 2-9-9-7-3-oh-oh
That’s all for now, Red Phone’s gotta go.
Hey readers! Know of a situation with a streetlight? Problems with potholes? Or perhaps you’re feeling Grinchly and want to complain about a neighbor’s over-the-top decorating. Though the Red Phone doesn’t think decorations can be, it’s here to listen to your troubles (but encourages happy thoughts), so call 842-9070 or e-mail
