GILROY – A rash of small earthquakes shook the Gilroy and Morgan Hill area this weekend. The largest, registering a magnitude of 3.6, occurred on Friday evening.

Just before the sizable temblor, a smaller magnitude-2.3 quake shook Morgan Hill just after 5 p.m.

About an hour later, at 6:11 p.m., Gilroyans were jolted by the magnitude-3.6 quake, centered about 2 miles east/northeast of San Martin on the San Andreas fault.
