GILROY – Dan Keith Septics remained alive in the Men’s DDD League pennant chase Sunday with a 15-0 blanking of the Hitmen at Gavilan Sports Park.
Pete Collom went 3-for-4 and scored four runs as Dan Keith Septics moved to 4-1 in second place in the six-team loop. Unbeaten Aladdin Bail Bonds-Rhino Wiring claimed a forfeit win over Bay Sheets to keep a one-game edge entering Sunday’s final games for the first half.
Danny Rubacalva went 4-for-4 and Jose Pacheco and Tom Luther delivered three hits apiece for Dan Keith Septics. Mario Razo went 2-for-2 for the Hitmen.
California Overhead turned back Most Wanted 20-8 as Ed Solis went 5-for-5 and scored six runs.
Jason Trujillo and Ed DeLeon pounded five hits each for 1-4 Overhead. Carlos Cano went 3-for-3 and Gilbert Tovar singled and tripled for Most Wanted.
Covenant Builders dropped a 6-3 decision to Dutchman’s Pizza-Big Kahunas Sunday to give Chicks N’ Sticks the first-half Co-Rec League championship.
While the Sticks moved to 5-0, Covenant slipped to 3-2. Covenant trailed 6-0 after four innings, then struck for three markers in the fifth on five consecutive two-out hits. Shaleen Moreno lined a two-run double for Covenant.
Kristin Rennard and Cheryl Baragona each powered three hits for the Dutchman’s-Kahunas attack. Danny Benz scored twice for the winners.
Team Hair FX is 3-2 after a 14-6 nod over Rush Order Inc. Dennis Subia went 3-for-3, Jerry Johnston hit two doubles and Tony Martinez scored three runs for Team Hair FX. Jeremy Castro stroked a two-run single and Betsy Brewer plated a Rush Order run.
Willie Gamboa Jr. cracked a triple and two singles as 3-2 Dicar Insurance outlasted 3-2 Mitsubishi Motors 17-8.
Liz Adams doubled and tripled, driving in three Dicar runs. Katrina Villa, Vicki Velasquez and Adams each scored three runs. Jeff Elliott homered and Frank Crue went 3-for-3 and scored three runs for Mitsubishi Motors.
