Earn extra money and have fun at the same time. This is a great part-time job for students, retirees, and stay-at-home parents.

Learn how mystery shopping works, what types of assessment forms are used, how to complete an assignment and how to get into the “shopper’s network.”

Class fee is $49 plus a $6 materials fee.

Symphony season starts Saturday

Gilroy – Tickets for the opening concert of the South Valley Symphony Saturday at Gavilan College, which starts at 7:30pm, are on sale at the following locations: The Music Tree in downtown Morgan Hill; Snappy Photo, 785 First St., California Music Company and Porcella’s Music, located on Monterey Street, in Gilroy; at Dorothy McNett’s Place in Hollister; and The Mission Gallery in San Juan Bautista.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors ages 60 and older, and $7 for students ages 12 through 18.

Learn to shoot like a pro

Gilroy – Whether you are using film or digital format cameras, here is a chance to see like the professionals and understand what makes a great photo great.

This two-hour class will help you shoot like a pro and stop taking ‘snapshots’.

No camera needed. Instructor James M. Mohs is the award-winning chief photographer of The Dispatch.

Participants should be ages 16 and older please. Classes will be held on Oct. 16 and 23 from 10am to noon in the Senior Center Meeting Room.

Registration fee is $20, or $24 to non-residents. Forms are available at Gilroy Community Services Dept., at City Hall, Sixth and Rosanna streets.

United against Diabetes

San Jose – Come and be “Unidos Contra El Diabetes/United Against Diabetes” on Saturday, from 10am to 3pm at Lake Cunningham Park, located off East Capitol Expressway at Tully Road, east of Highway 101.

The event is happing alongside Council member David Cortese’s “Day In the Park” but a section will be allocated just for the health fair.

One out of every eight Latinos has diabetes.
